CELEBRATING YOU!

THANK YOU! Such simple words and yet they hold huge meaning. I want to take this opportunity to extend a well-deserved THANK YOU to each of you. Here at MCC, we are celebrating each of you and your support of our efforts.

In the first quarter of 2009, with the gifts from our volunteers, donors, foundations and grants, we have accomplished a lot! Here is a snap shot of what we are able to do with your support:

• MCC was one of 30 food pantries to participate in the NFL Click for Charity and received 72 cases of Campbell’s Chunky Soup from the Green Bay Packers.
• The Kids Place after school program has added 3 new programs: STARS Reading Program, Cultural Arts and HIP: Having Parents Involved.
• The Youth Development Program at Kozy has served 166 youth. 100 youth attended the winter Family Fun Fest, MCC boys and girls basketball teams won the league championships and 19 teens participated in a dating violence prevention program.
• The Neighborhood Improvement Project has completed 23 HOME rehab projects and removed graffiti from 262 addresses serviced.
• The YouthBuild Program has 2 crews and has 2 houses in progress.
• The Senior Center and Family Care Programs have added a part-time activities director and served 2039 meals to senior program participants.
• Our 11th Annual Bowl-a-thon was held in March and we raised over $14,000 to help with programming.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! MCC is able to accomplish this due to the volunteers, dedicated staff, individual donations, material donations, food donations, and funding from community resources. We CELEBRATE what each of you gives to us to make this happen! Working together and making good choices will help all of us weather this uncertain time. CELEBRATE YOU-count your successes and remember that the little things that each of us do add up to make a difference!
